"I mean, what is an un-birthday present?"
"A present given when it isn't your birthday, of course."
Alice considered a little. "I like birthday presents best," she said at last.
"You don't know what you're talking about!" cried Humpty Dumpty. "How many days are there in a year?"
"Three hundred and sixty-five," said Alice.
"And how many birthdays have you?"
"One."

It's my birthday. The big question is, how will I spend it? My husband has planned a surprise. He says it will take all day -- I should clear the calendar. The evening before, he told me he has to get to bed early, because he has a big day ahead of him.
This made me nervous.
If he has a big day ahead of him, then what will it be like for me? I mentioned (just casually, of course) that I am not sure what I should wear.
"Casual."
Do you know how many settings "casual" includes?
Let me tell you, hundreds.
Can you tell I'm a structured planner? No, wait, don't answer that.
I think I am going to take layers and three kinds of shoes. Maybe pack a bag. For my birthday.
Right now, I am deciding whether I will eat cake. It's not good for me. I almost never eat it now. I'm on a low-fat vegetarian diet to protect myself from the heart disease in my family history. But I love cake. The question of the day is: Should I eat it? Will I eat it? What kind will I eat?
Some of my favorites include:
Coconut cake
Chocolate cake
Carrot cake
Wedding cake
Red Velvet cake
Lemon cake
White Chocolate cake
Pineapple upside-down cake
What do you think will happen?
Check back tomorrow to find out!
Happy Birthday dear friend! Have a glorious, surprise day celebrating with your husband. This Apple Pie community appreciates you so. May your birthday blessings be equal to those you freely give to us.

ReplyDeleteAnd the icing.
But only a little so you don't feel icky-Dear. :)
Have Fun!!!
Happy birthday!!! You are such a blessing to me. May your day be filled with joy - and cake, too!
ReplyDeleteYour very own birthday cake is only once a year... a slice probably won't harm ya! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! Go for the carrot cake...I would consider it a vegetable!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Can I tell you a secret? I HATE suprises. So much so that I am getting upset for you as I read this post! If my husband did this, I would either demand he tell me, or refuse to go :) I pray you do like suprises, and that you have fun on yours :) I can't wait to read about how your day is tomorrow!
